All are welcome
You don't have to be a member to participate in Ministry at The Great Awakening! All you have to do is be available. We believe that all have been given gifts and talents that should be utilized in God's House. So come and join the family and enjoy the fellowship. Below are just a few of the ministries offered at The Great Awakening, UCC.
Children's & Youth Ministry
The Children's and Youth Ministry is lead by the Christian Education Team. Events are planned throughout the year including Vacation Bible School, Harvest Fest, Kid's Fashion Shows, and more.
We hope to incorporate children and youth participation within our main worship time through assisting with the media ministry, music ministry, and even to serve as worship leaders.
Children are special to us
Weddings
The Pastor is available for both members and guests as an officiant. Not only is the church Open and Affirming but we promote and encourage healthy relationships and believe in the sanctity of marriage. Same-gender loving unions and marriages are performed by our clergy on staff.
College Ministry
Our Co-Pastor serves as a Campus Pastor and works closely with college-bound students within our congregation and in the community. Have questions about college or financial aid, we are here to help.
L.I.F.T.
LIFT or Ladies in Fellowship Together come together for discussions which include: Faith Development, Relationships, Spiritual Growth, and Purpose.
S.O.F.T.
SOFT or Soldiers of Faith (Young Men or Studs) gather to share and to fellowship. Topics of discussion include: Spiritual Growth, Faith Development, Brotherhood and Purpose.
F.O.C.U.S.
Fellowship of Christians Uniting to Serve join together to volunteer in the community. Outreach, social activities and technology are a few areas we love to explore. So if you love to be active, enjoy working with technology and want to reach the unchurched in non-conventional ways then this ministry is for you.
